Farming fruit and flowers

This area supplies flowers, fruit and vegetables to the rest of the country. The climate, fertile soils and altitude mean that everything from cauliflowers to coffee can be grown here.

With the lunar new year a few days away, this is the busiest time if the year, supplying the nation with huge quantities of food and flowers for the festivities.

Poly houses like this are made from bamboo and must be rebuilt every 5 years. They stretch as far as the eye can see, and beyond. Each family has about an acre to grow their choice of produce. We ate tomatoes and other fruits growing as weeds around 5 boundaries.
