Beached as bro!

Here at Mui Ne, our day consists of a lazy breakfast (no rush!) of native food (egg fried rice) and coffee (that has been through the digestive system of a weasel of course!) before walking to the beach... 30 / 40 metres away. We go home in the middle (hottest part) of the day for noodles or a snack, then head back to the beach for the late afternoon.

It is lovely having an appartment with a kitchen, separate bedrooms and a lounge big enough to swing a... weasel! It is blissful after 7 weeks of tiny hotel rooms.

Each day we buy sweetcorn from this guy who always has his pet monkey with him called Meme. She quite likes me and spent a lot of time climbing on me today, stealing my sunglasses and eating corn, seeds and fruit that passersby donated. I know the chain isn't nice, but she's such a spritely, happy looking animal and fascinating to watch up close.

I must admit, that I quite like Meme too!
Being at the beach for hours on end is great fun, but we miss having a pool... so we sneak into one belonging to a swish 4 star hotel each day to wash off the sand and salt! Theres rarely anybody there:

This is 'our' spot of beach, I hope you sympathise with what we have to put up with:

 Will in his element!
He's already trying to stand up:

Our two slinky malinkies, such beach babes!

A woman came walking with her pet pig! Both seemed to love all of the attention and went for a swim. I've never seen that before!

We found a plastic sheet washed up on the beach and we decided to make a paddling pool. There are heaps of coconuts washed up to which are great for fun and games too

We all get to keep fit by running up and down that beach to fill up our pool:

I feel proud to have taught Science for almost 13 years, but I much prefer this learning environment, with my own kids. Now school has resumed in New Zealand, I'm oficially unemployed... its quite a strange feeling... I'll get over it!
