We're staying next to a large have park and were treated to a dancing and drumming lesson this evening after dinner. We then got a tribal display from the awesome Zulu people. It's hard to see, but the kids shared their marshmallows with the Warriors before a display which included a lot of dancing from Will and Lily with asagai's (shields). It was tear jerking and very entertaining stuff!

Hawk sanctuary
Whilst Bernie and her Dad continued preparations for Nana and Grandag's visit, the kids and I visited a really nice hawk rehabilitation centre for the morning. Sadly, we were the only visitors for the morning performance and the sanctuary I'd not bashing much money these days. On the plus side, we got a very personal show and I got to hand feed a beautiful little owl. Didn't want to be a tourist so no pictures of the demo, but it was very impressive and the kids had a great time.

Park life
Our kids got to play with some fun African kids at the playground around the corner today. The settings, slide and climbing frame remind me of the structures I used to play on when I was growing up in England.

Tala game reserve
Down the road from Bernie's parents farm is a modest Gabe reserve with no large predators, but plenty of white rhino, giraffe, zebras, hippos, wildebeest and buck if navy shapes and sizes.

Cow boy and girl!
Will got to ride Braveheart around the paddock to round up the calves this morning... He did such a good job that I didn't have chance to get pictures of the cows before they scarpered!

Happy horses
Bernie got to have her first horse ride in over 3 years this morning. She is a natural, poetry in motion.
Run Forest!
The Cannonball kid is getting better and better at channelling his abundant energy into positive things like climbing and running. He is on his second there-and-back run down to the pond and back whilst Mum is having her first horse ride in 3 years.
Braii time!
After another busy day on the farm, it's time for a nice braii with jacket potatoes and steak! Hopefully the roasted marshmallows will feature again later too!

Good morning Braveheart!
Will has been loving his horse riding lessons with his Gangan (Gran) and the delightful Braveheart. He woke us up before 6am so he could join Gangan for feeding time. Such a lovely time of the day.
Lily tries to emulate her brother and it's hard to believe that she is still only two years old when you see her on a horse and running around after her mentalist sibling as they collect sticks for sword fighting and marshmallow roasting for the evening. It is so lovely to be in the countryside again, if only the beach were a little closer!

Milky milky
The milk produced on Liz and JP's farm is taken once a week to Huberto's icecreams factory. The place smells awesome, but sadly, they're not in need of a taster.
